Golden. Crunchy. Tender.
These chicken strips bring back every childhood cookout memory — only better. No deep fryer, no questionable coatings, just perfectly seasoned strips air-fried until crisp.
Bonus: They're just as good fresh out of the fryer as they are cold the next day (hello, picnic leftovers)!
INGREDIENTS:
1 pound boneless chicken thigh, cut into strips
1 1/2 tbsp mustard
1/4 tsp cajun seasoning
1/4 tsp smoked paprika
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 large egg, beaten
1 1/2 cup cornflake cereal, crushed
A pinch of salt and pepper
Cooking spray
RECIPE:
1. Preheat Fritaire to 375 F and line the air stand with parchment paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl combine, cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
3. Add the chicken strips and mix well until all the chicken is coated in spice mixture.
4. Add the mustard and mix to coat again.
5. In a medium mxing bowl, beat an egg and place the crushed cornflake cereal in a tird mixing bowl.
6. Dip the chicken strips into the egg, then coat with cornflakes, pressing gently to help adhere.
7. Transfer the chicken to the air stand in one layer, will need to air fry the chicken in batches (usually 2).
8. Spray the chicken with cooking spray
9. Air fry the chicken for 9-10 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
10. Flip the chicken about ¾ of the way through cooking. When the chicken comes out of the air fryer, sprinkle with salt.
11. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
